A ‘tasteful’ benefit
Event supports hospital foundation
“A Tasteful Experience,” held by the Clara Maass Foundation on Oct. 17 at the Montclair Art Museum to benefit Clara Maass Medical Center, featured an evening of sensational food and wine prepared and provided by area restaurants and distributors. As part of the event, participating restaurants and distributors competed among seven categories and were judged by attendees to the event.
“Thanks to your generosity and the stewardship of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, 100 percent of the proceeds generated from ‘A Tasteful Experience’ will benefit Clara Maass Medical Center, as we strive to continue to provide the most comprehensive and highest quality medical care to our communities,” said Thomas A. Biga, Executive Director of Clara Maass Medical Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. “The event’s unique gathering also would not have been possible without the support of the many participants providing sensational food and wine, and the philanthropy of the event’s sponsors.”
Winners of a “Tasteful Experience ‘Best of ‘Awards” include: Table 8 of Montclair, for Best Dessert; Fascino of Montclair, for Best Pasta; Nori Japanese Restaurant of Caldwell, for Best Seafood; T. Edwards Wines, Ltd. of Bloomfield, for Best Beverage; Food Company Catering and Special Events of East Hanover, for Best Vegetable/Salad; Indigo Smoke of Montclair, for Best Meat/Poultry; and Conca D’Oro Italian Pastries, for Best Presentation.
“While the winners of the ‘Best of’ Awards certainly deserve applause, the event would not have been a success without the contribution of each of the participants,” said Jane Kessler, vice president of the Clara Maass Foundation, “ All of the food and beverage was outstanding, making this one of the most successful events held by the Clara Maass Foundation.”
